Puppy Mill Breeder -

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BREEDER, LOOK AT THE WEBSITE
AND HOW MANY DOGS THEY HAVE.  A PUPPY MILL WILL HAVE
OVER 20 DOGS. HOW DOES SOMEBODY HAVE THAT MANY
DOGS GIVE THE ATTENTION THAT EACH ONE NEEDS
INDIVIDUALLY?

CHECK ON HOW MANY LITTERS THEY PRODUCE ON AN
AVERAGE - YEARLY. A GOOD BREEDER BREEDS ONLY
OCCASIONALLY (ONE OR 2 A YEAR) AND BREEDS A LITTER
WITH THE SOLE OBJECTIVE TO IMPROVE THE BREED. THEY
OFTEN WILL KEEP A QUALITY PUP FOR THEMSELVES TO
IMPROVE THEIR BREEDING PROGRAM.

WARNING: A BREEDER THAT KEEPS REPEATING THE SAME
BREEDING (SOMETIMES THE SAME 2 DOGS) OVER & OVER IS
NOT IMPROVING THE BREED. THEY ARE BREEDING SOLELY
FOR PROFIT.

A PUPPY MILLER:
1) MAY HAVE SERIOUS HEALTH  ISSUES
BEWARE.
HEREDITARY DISEASES AND COMMON HEALTH PROBLEMS.

2) THEY PROBABLY DO NOT BREED ACCORDING TO THE
BREED STANDARD ADOPTED BY THE AKC & THE  BORDER
COLLIE SOCIETY OF AMERICA

3) THEIR BREEDING STOCK IS MEDIOCRE OR  POOR QUALITY
DOGS

4)THEY BREED THEIR BITCHES ONE HEAT CYCLE AFTER THE
OTHER FOR $$$$ PROFITS.

THEY ARE  SCARY, DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU.
MONEY MOTIVATES THEM.

REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

A BREEDER THAT DEALS NOT WITH QUALITY BUT, WITH
QUANTITY CAN PRICE THEIR DOGS LOWER SINCE THEY WORK
ON VOLUME.

Be a responsible, informed consumer-if you do buy from a breeder, go
to a reputable one:

1) Who will show you where the dogs spend their time and introduces
you to the puppy's parents.

Remember all puppies are sweet, adorable, cute balls of fur. But,
they will not stay that way. How they will look later? Look at the
parents. They probably will grow up to look like them and have
similar personalities and traits like them. Let this guide you.

2) Who explains the puppy's medical history, including vaccines, and
gives you their veterinarian's contact info.

3)  Who
doesn't have puppies available year-round, yet may keep a
waiting list for interested people.

4) who asks about your family's lifestyle, why you want a dog, and
your care and training plans for the puppy.

5) Who doesn't use pressure sales tactics.

NOTE: Puppies are generally evaluated by the age of 8 weeks and
even though all are from the same parents, they are
not equal in
quality. And they should be priced accordingly. This is why the pick of
the litter is generally the most expensive. A breeder will have show
quality dogs priced for
more than pet quality. This only makes sense.
Information for Puppy Buyers

I hope this page helps you make your decision on where & from whom to acquire
your Border Collie Puppy. I am not trying to target any one breeder. And I am sure
reputable breeders will not be offended.

Owning a Border Collie is a serious commitment. They should be considered as
new member of your family. And hopefully active, loving members for a long time.
